2022 was no less of a rollercoaster than the past few years but it also had a few surprises up its sleeve. One of course was going to the FEI World Championships in Denmark in August but it was closely followed by a wonderfully inspiring few days at Dovecot Equestrian Centre in Oxfordshire, courtesy of Emily J Baker, riding at a clinic with the great maestro Charles de Kunffy!!
The opportunity to ride at a Charles' clinic for my first time, was a huge honour but also to spend three days watching the sessions with the other riders as well as the impromptu talks by Charles was very special - all the more so as most agreed that this may possibly be the last time that Charles is able to visit and train in England!! Charles has been Andrew's mentor for a long time and the chance to ride for Charles and experience the same guidance and direction that Andrew had for so many years was truly a 'moment'! Also the fact that Skye was an absolute dream to ride was the icing on the cake.. and surprised those that know what he can be capable of in unusual and tense situations. He answered every question that was asked of him with confidence and ease!
As always so many to thank for their support, sponsorship, help and friendship this year as always!! We are looking forward to new adventures in the New Year...with hopefully not as many dramas as this!
