More than 6 months since the Paralympics Rhapsody and I headed out to our first competition - at Hickstead. The conditions could not have been worse with howling gale force winds and torrential rain - it was a test of our resolve not to just jump back in the lorry and gallop for home!
But we were there - and we were wet so we carried on...
Although very excited in the high winds Rhapsody seemed to thoroughly enjoy getting back into competition mode (i.e. showing off!) I was thrilled to bits when he won his first class - could not have asked for a better start to our competition campaign. Finally the weather seems to have turned a corner, the fields are looking greener and the horses have all enjoyed having some sun on their backs after the long cold winter! Hopefully from now on there will be some more news to write about - other than just the weather!!
