Meanwhile Brodie is still very content in the field with his friends - he looks great but is still not 100% sound and after discussions with my vet Steve Brooks I have decided to extend his holiday - judging by his happy hairy face on Saturday he will not be too displeased about my decision!
My first outing with Pip was a resounding success! Sunday 17th April - we took Pip to Pachesham for our first competition - we deliberately chose a low key competition for our first outing to give us both some confidence with each other in a show setting with minimum pressure - there will be plenty of that in the months to come! I could not have been more delighted with our scores of 73.5% and 68.4% with some very pleasing comments from the judges - not to mention the icing on the cake - winning both classes! Pip was the complete gentleman and a true competitor - he seemed to love every minute and lapped up all the attention from his band of supporters and well wishers who I was delighted had come to watch us. I could not have wished for a better start and am now looking forward more than ever to our next competition at the end of April at Hickstead. The competition was meant to be a step forward in our training more than anything else - to assess areas to concentrate on - so the final results were a complete bonus!
