Rhapsody spent the week before Christmas with Andrew and – at the risk of repeating myself again – he went better than ever! Confirmation, as if I needed it, that my efforts in getting Rhaps to the larger school on a regular basis was improving his strength and fitness – and mine too :-)
While at Leybourne I was approached by the owner of Pace Equestrian, Claire Marchant with a ‘too good to be true’ offer of support for me and Rhaps! Pace Equestrian are suppliers of good quality/affordable rugs – to quote their website http://www.paceequestrian.co.uk/ they provide “quality products at sensible affordable prices”. Photos and more information on this very exciting news to follow shortly – suffice to say that Rhaps is now proudly sporting a new night rug with built in neck cover. A much needed addition to his very limited rug collection!!
Potential sponsors have asked for an indication of our time line leading up to WEG in August. Sitting down and looking through our hopeful training/competition schedule etc made the next 8 months look very short indeed! It looks as though my first para competition will be early February – subject to the weather. Mid-January Rhaps is scheduled to go back to Andrew – crikey – just realised that’s only 2 weeks away!!
On a personal note, with my contract at L&G ending on the 31st December, I was relieved after Christmas to be offered a full time – permanent - PA position at L&G starting the 2nd January… which will take away the uncertainty going forward of doing temping/contract work. The worry of a job – or the lack of one – has been emotionally draining this past month.
So… one box ticked! Now to look to the future and wishing everyone a very Happy New Year! xx
